Health Information Technology


At our State College location, this program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). Upon successful completion of the HIT program, State College graduates are eligible to apply to take the Registered Health Information Technology (RHIT) examination.

Two Year AST Degree Program

Health Information Technology students learn the latest medical, technical, and healthcare management skills to operate successfully in today’s varied and fast-paced health environments. HIT specialists collect, organize, and evaluate records in a wide range of health care settings such as: acute care hospitals, specialty hospitals, physician offices, nursing homes, prison health facilities and ambulatory care facilities. * NOTE: Students enrolled in the Health Information Technology program at our Philipsburg location will begin their studies in Philipsburg and complete their studies at the State College location.
